The 8th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!!!!

Ok, what's the difference between a regular Naked Neck and a Showgirl?

For you Jessi!

I have one..a silkie with a NN..mine is a Nn..meaning..with a bow tie. :)

Here is my Uggums. She was so ugly as a chick, I called her Uggums.

She is a smooth Show Girl

Past Show Girls

I used this one for a welcome. One of my babies.

A fluffy silkie older baby.

A cute little Show Girl baby

My paint Show Girl..turned out to be a boy.

I've been working with the groups trying to get sizzles and frilkies into standards
. For the sizzle it should be a silkie in every way except that it does not have silkie feathers. It is either smooth feathers or frizzled feathers.
A frilkies should be any chicken that has feathers that are both silkie and frizzled at the same time.
This is Phyllis Diller - My Frilkie....or so I was told. She is a silkie in all ways, except her feathers
.

4 quail hatched and 3 bantam Mille Fleur Cochins. I'll post my totals later just sharing. Only 1 bantam egg was a part of my set total.
31 chicken eggs in lockdown for Saturday hatching. Some drawn air cells but no early pips just yet.
Funny that my Cochins and quail hatched early and from different bators.

I use the top of an old styro bator for the brooder with these pip squeaks!

I had 17 babies hatch. I have me some NN and Nn babies.

These above are from Desertchick.

Here are a couple of photos of the whole group with chicks from both breeders.

It's 3:45am and I can't sleep! The incubator is in my office right next to me and every once in a while I hear a peep, but no external pips yet! It's not officially hatch day for about 5.5 more hours, so I shouldn't even be getting hopeful yet!

Stupid insomnia.

Anyway, super excited to see everyone's little pippers! Looking forward to adding my pics to the bunch over the next 24 hours!

Dear BYC,
The pip on the egg next to the baby is gone. I can't find it on that egg at all. I don't even see a hair line Crack. I think the baby rolled the egg over it and closed it back up. Should I be concerned or will that baby be ok?
Sincerely,
Scared in SC
