The 8th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!!!!

I have 7 pips and 2 zipping. Not seeing/hearing anything out of the others yet. My first pips was at 7 am and they are the 2 zipping now. Driving me nuts lol I am too excited. I have an alarm on my phone that's several chicks chirping so when they stop chirping too long I play it to "wake" them back up and they start chirping and working on the shell. Lol.. Ready for them to hatch now!

I can't believe this egg pipped. I totally thought it was a quitter but I kept it in just because. Just goes to show you that you shouldn't count an egg out until you know FOR SURE that it's not viable! The membrane looks a bit dry but humidity is at 70% and I just put in a wet paper towel to increase it some more.

That's why I never throw any eggs away unless they are clear.

Just curious, what made you think it was a quitter?

Chick chit chat! :gig Don't forget though that they do need some rest too. Hatching is super hard for them and they need plenty of energy to hatch.
Hmm... 5 pips. 2 wrong end and 1 in the middle. Shipped eggs, first time. This common with shipped?
Shipping could be a factor but so could many other things. Great read here on malpositioned chicks ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/step-by-step-guide-to-assisted-hatching

:woot The membrane looks ok, nice and white. Tan colour is what you need to look for as this indicates drying out. Good luck with the little one and great catch on not giving up on it!

Almost out!

And out!

EE from a darkish green egg.

:goodpost:

I agree 100% with this.
Can be up to 24 hours. Do you have one at 28 hours now? If so it is still moving?
:clap

I've thought about setting the GoPro up next to the incubator when I head off to bed
I have no idea as to if it has movement or not it piped slightly and that's it no other sign no loss in hilumidity nor temp it's a RIR egg if that's anything
