Well I planed to put them in the Sat before but I guess i can start them on that Thursday because i would like to sell chicks for Easter this year. Plan to put in seabrights silkies polish EEs black sexlink Jappanese and bbrS. Because of I start 2 days before it costs right?

I'll join, kids with love this. Our new flock is pretty young, last year's chicks, so hopefully they will start laying soon. And our young rooster can do his part. Plus side though one hen did start laying this week, got two eggs so far

I won't be part of this Hatch Along
But, that's only because I'll be setting eggs every four weeks on a schedule until it starts getting cool next Fall (here in SC that will actually be more like January).

yep!! good girls! after a 5 month wait we got eggs!

They sure do make it feel like an eternity!

I'll be joining. Doing a test hatch now & just separated a few more breeding groups last night. Maybe by then, I can separate more if the weather cooperates.

Sounds a good plan. Yes 1/2 days before or after the set still count. Those are some lovely breeds you are going to be setting.

Welcome and I'm sure the kids will love it! Incubating and hatching is so much for them especially when they see the chicks hatch.
Do you already have an incubator?

Yes, we have two incubators. Both homemade, I've had better success with them then store bought. I can fit 25-30 chicken eggs in each. Just have to manually turn the eggs is all.

If I set on March 25, that would be my third hatch this year by that time! I might, maybe I can get ahold of some turkey eggs...never owned a turkey...how old for butcher on those??
