The 8th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!!!!

Will be setting eggs for this hatch along, got some black copper eggs, EE, and some barnyard mixes

I'd love to participate, but I'm in need of an incubator. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I HIGHLY reccomend IncuView incubators. I hatched my first batch ever with one and got a 92% hatch rate. Hooked.

Well, I've realized this is one of ''those threads'' that get like fifty posts a day.......lol.

I'm am going to try convincing my mom to let me get 1 dozen Blue Ameraucana eggs and 1 dozen Black Copper Maran eggs for this HAL, now that I'm starting to get the basics of incubating down, I'm not freaked out I'll ruin the eggs. Now to convince her this is a good idea....

I'm am going to try convincing my mom to let me get 1 dozen Blue Ameraucana eggs and 1 dozen Black Copper Maran eggs for this HAL, now that I'm starting to get the basics of incubating down, I'm not freaked out I'll ruin the eggs. Now to convince her this is a good idea....

Good luck! I also had a great hatch my first time using a incubator last spring. Every egg hatched except for a couple clears, I will not hope for the best this time and leave them in (boy they can stink!!)

I was just looking at my incubator a few days ago, four yr old boy was pretty upset I didn't have baby chicky eggs in my pockets when I came inside after feeding the birds. Buddy, it's too cold out there, baby chicky eggs come in the spring...He laughed and checked every pocket, Lol!

Haha, I did the same thing. However, it did pay off for one of them...just don't break the others, or you'll pull a Charlotte's Web. Lol

Aww, how sweet. My siblings know it is too cold for chicks outside, so instead they stare at the incubator of eggs not due to hatch for 18 days.

How do you store them? I would assume they are waiting for the day you put them in the incubator?

I want to join! I'll either be hatching duck eggs (if I can get my hands on some) or some from my chickens out back. so excited!
