The 8th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!!!!

My husband said he will be picking it out, yeah, I WILL be the one to use it but he wants to pick it out. :love  (Gotta LOVE that man! He puts up with my animals.)

THANKS for the warm WELCOME!

Yeah, mine puts up with my animals too but then again I put up with his shooting hobby also so we rub along together just fine. He pretends he's not keen on the animals but I know different ;)

Well candled my wheaten amerucana eggs tonight. 12 were unfertile 12 are growing. they should hatch this coming weekend.
Using my brinsea bator it is about 5 years old now.
Now the wait to see who hatches and who doesn't....

Sorry about the infertile, good luck on the rest! :fl

I want to join in. I have pekin eggs in at the moment but they are due on the 19th. That should give me plenty of time to gather eggs. I'll be hatching all Easter eggers. For Easter! Yay!

I still plan on setting and being part of the Easter Hatchalong. I am hoping to find some Turkey and Duck eggs to hatch. Does anyone on here have a place they would recommend for me to get them from ??? Thanks in advance. If no luck with Turkey/Duck eggs I will set some more of my barnyard mutt chicken eggs. :)

Ok, I'm sure that this may not be the right place to post this, but there are too many forums regarding lockdown. This is my first batch of eggs. I have them in a hovabator without a hygrometer to measure humidity levels. I've been keeping one channel filled with water in the bottom as the directions said that came with the bator. I am scheduled to go into lockdown tomorrow with 20 chicken eggs. I've been candling and things look like they are progressing well. My concern is that I have 5 duck eggs in with them and I'm worried about when I should stop turning the duck eggs. I have been hand turning them all twice a day since the start. Will the duck eggs be ok during the chicken lockdown or can I open the bator and turn them quickly. I'm really nervous that I am going to do something wrong. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Just in case, ducks are scheduled to hatch on March 18th. Chickens are scheduled to hatch on March 11th and 12th. Thank you.
