For me for collecting eggs for this do you all think it would be ok if I were to collect eggs on the 23, and 24 and anything they lay on the 25 before noon? With only 3 cochins laying i want to get the most out of every hatch

What'll help is raising them with the chickens. The hens will teach the young drake a lesson in respect if he tries anything funky, and IME, he'll leave them alone after that!^ This. And be prepared to have to separate him if he gets the hots for one of the chickens..
