miss counted 288 4 dozen each tray 6 trays Getting old can't even count.. Still in big trouble if 1/2 hatch.
Love the Dickie bator it has been real reliable.
And Mr, Dickie is very helpful if you need help.....

Gotta love a determined broody! I found my hen's stash the other day and blocked her from that hiding place, though it would have been an excellent choice for a brood nest. If it wasn't going to turn so cold here this week, I would have left them and let her sit on them. I put an open dog crate filled with hay and herbs in her last stash place. I am hoping she will find it a good place to lay her eggs and then when she finally goes broody, I can lock her in and keep her safe without having to disturb her nest.

After much thought and thinking I will collect eggs for 1 week for hatching. Hopefully I can fill my incubator if the 3 females lay an egg everyday. If they all lay an egg everyday for 1 week I would get 21 eggs which is one more then the bator can have so one will have to get tossed. If not hopefully I can get at least 14 for the bator

I am just really excited to be hatching my own show quality Cochins for me to show next year

Test hatch is complete. Bought some Ameracauna eggs off ebay, 14 eggs total. 7 hatched and lived, 2 died after pipping. So far best result for buying eggs online. We also put 4 of our orpington eggs in the bator to see if our young rooster is doing is job. 100% success. All 4 hatched. Now to get ready for the EASTER HAL.
