The 8th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!!!!

Just set some for a "test" hatch, (only about 25 total) Isbars (my first! - they were cheap on ebay with no bids so I got them

) and project eggs which I hope are fertile. They should hatch 3 days after the H-A-L set date

should have timed it better so there would be more incubators to fill with eggs for the big hatch. I guess if needed I can get creative and pack extras in my 20 egg r-com bator for the first few days. My family has no idea how many eggs have been/will be set, it's better that way

I set 79 eggs tonight. 15 turkey and 64 chicken. I think I'm way beyond the test hatch stage here

. My cabinet is getting full!

Here are today's babies. There's still some peeping in the bator so I may have some stragglers in there in the morning. The older silkie in there is my "babysitter". Premie is too small to be in the big brooder with the older babies so she cares for the little ones for me lol

Thank you to everybody whom replied regarding my earlier question about separation of hens. Unfortunately they will have only been separated for 3 weeks, but hopefully it will be enough.
