Okay, I candled and I can very clearly see the chick in five eggs.
However One has a blood ring, one has no development and one I'm not sure about. Very eggcited for the hatch though (get my pun?

Ohhh I hope so... Expensive eggs to be so cruelly mistreated by the post office. 5 were broken upon arrival and the box was dented, I'm going to wait and see but we've already filed a claim and if none hatch I'll have her send new ones. I swear if you mark something "fragile" they go out of their way to bash it up sometimes.

Yes, i quit marking fragile on egg boxes and got better results.

What a day my butt is killing me.About 15 minutes after I woke up this morning power went out.I called Electric co. They said power would be down about 4 hours.After about 45 minutes incubator temp was down to 80° .I tried putting blankets over incubator to hold in heat but it was useless.Finally after about hour and 15 minutes I decided it was going to take drastic measures to save my little chicks.The only thing i could think of was I needed to sit on those eggs.So I placed all 18 eggs on a piece of that foam egg shell material that is used on matresses then took another piece of same egg shell foam and put it on top of eggs.Now that i had eggs sandwiched between foam it was time for me to start brooding.I spent next 2 1/2 hours sitting on chicken eggs reading Urban Chicken magazine.I must say, I have gained a lot of respect for brooding hens.The power is back on and i candled a few of eggs they are doing just fine.I wish i could say the same for my hemorrhoids.

One of my 20 quail chicks has bad feet. They were all balled up toes, but to make it worse seems like something wrong with ankles. I put tape shoes on but not too hopeful.
