Two of my duck eggs hatched today.. a few with external pips.

Got home to a pipped egg sitting on the turner at 40% humidity. My daughter and I wrapped it in a damp paper towel and put it and all the others in egg cartons, took out the turner, added warm water and closed the lid in anticipation for this hatch. He/she is a BCM, that it out and a Serama egg now has a pip.

I just did a quick candling of my turkey eggs and I have 6 out of 8 that are internally piped.... they are due saturday..

Humidity during incubation should not go below 25%. There are places where it is so dry that humidity will go that low.

Mine is 19% dry!!! (adding humidity tray bumps it up to 40.)

I put 18 eggs in lockdown early this morning.I'm not sure about 4 of them but put them in anyways.3 of of those 4 are very dark color eggs making it hard to see inside but they didn't look fully developed.The 4th egg had a accident and was cracked pretty bad.A egg slipped out of my hand but I was able to catch it with other hand.Only problem was the hand I caught it with was already holding a egg.When falling egg hit egg in my hand it smashed it pretty good..
There is good news cracked egg is still wiggling around so chick isn't dead.If it can survive till tomorrow(day20) it will most likely survive.View attachment 1314697

My count of 30 is now down to 23. I pulled the quitters and will be locking down tonight after the Hatcher finishes heating up.

Mine just went into lockdown yesterday. I know I shouldn’t expect anything till hatch day, but dangit! Waiting is sooo hard!

But you have to keep checking - you don't want to miss it. Doesn't matter how many times I hatch eggs there's something so magical about seeing those babies pop out. Hope you have a great hatch!

It’s sooooo true.
My best hatch was the one where they all happened overnight! I didn’t have to spend a ten hour day staring at them!
