So far 28 has hatched, 2 zipping and several piping. out of 58 eggs. 1 died after it was piping good with nice hole, 5 not fertile. My luck most are roosters. Barred Rock in background and many with the white on head or light spot.

Sexing Barred rocks like that is very iffy. Do not get frustrated but wait until they get enough feathers to tell the color difference

Final hatch for me is 6.

I'm not sure why but it seems like my shipped eggs are always more in a hurry to hatch than my own eggs lol. 7 choc orps hatched so far with more pipped and a zip. A couple pips in my own eggs but nothing hatched yet. So exciting! This was a great hatch of shipped eggs. They sent me 15 eggs and 13 made it to lockdown

Sexing Barred rocks like that is very iffy. Do not get frustrated but wait until they get enough feathers to tell the color difference

Thank you,I sure hope so. The light spots on head did prove true on the ones last summer though. I have 9 that hatched 3-4 weeks ago, not sure on a couple, but others are looking like roos. Any case, they will be around until 4 mo old, and whoever isn't a pullet, well, they'll be winter Dinner. Most all these are out of my EE's. So hope some are pullets.
