I think at least keeping your eggs upright in a carton in storage helps keep the yolk in the center, might be settled but at least center. I found this out when I boiled a bunch of eggs for pickling. Had them stored in big coffee containers laid flat. Almost every one I peeled the yolk was resting on the side of the shell... no good for pickling. Doesn't take long either, they were not old eggs.


I've had people see them and ask, aww .. poor thing, what happened to its feathers on the neck? Or, they think they look like a turkey.
