The active and popular tabs

Can each tab only have one parameter, though? I'm just wondering how to introduce more variety, because where it's at for me and BYC is the constant updates and new discussions.
Yes, I believe just one parameter (if I'm understanding your question). When you say "more variety", can you be more specific... maybe with examples?

As for a new tab, latest replies would keep things fresh and ward off some of the stagnation in the other two tabs.
I'll look into it and see if we have space for it and if the contents / results are very differentiated from the other existing tabs.

Okay, I just re-read your post and see that there are two parameters for the active tab: most replied threads and sixty days or newer. Most replied threads sets this apart from the popular tab, so I'm now better understanding how it differs.

And I'm seeing some new discussions in the active and popular tabs today. But those discussions tend to stay there for a good long while. I was wondering if something can be adjusted to keep them from doing that for too long. For example, in the popular tab the 2018 hatch-a-long has been there for weeks. This is a discussion that started on November 26. It has over a hundred pages, so it's obviously very popular.

I'm not sure how many page views that discussion gets from the popular tab every day, but personally I'd love to see something else that's popular — and not so long standing. So perhaps the second parameters for active and popular can be adjusted. Instead of sixty days or newer, how about thirty days?

What I'm not sure about is how this will affect the variety, but I think it's something that could help prevent older discussions from always showing up in the tabs, thereby pushing out other equally interesting and popular topics.

:pop I dunno how all this will play out, but I like the way @CapricornFarm thinks! :bow

I probably won't be able to figure any of it out but then I have a reputation to protect as the forum stinker/brickbrain and I protect it valiantly and prove it constantly!
I don't see @CapricornFarm in this discussion. I'm a Virgo. Is anyone else a Capricorn?

Hehehe!!

See, told you I work hard at preserving my reputation! And when I do a stoopid, I usually do a pretty cool job of it! I don’t know how I managed to get the wrong name, unless as I started typing the first letters of your name I was click-impatient and clicked on the first name that looked familiar, but please forgive me!

Oh, @Blooie ... how can I possibly not forgive someone who makes such an adorable gingerbread house that looks just like their chicken coop and run!! And I now leave sticks and twigs in the chicken run to help aerate the leaves and pine needles, thanks to you!!!

:p :love :bun
