Barbara is just so wonderful! She's a wise hen, that one; got a good head on her shoulders, knows what's important.

Wendyâs Revenge
There was a celebration at the Food Peopleâs coop. The Junior Food Man and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Junior Food Man and Uncle Junior Food Man came over for the day. The Junior Food People also brought their chicken chasing dogs, so all the chickens were confined to the pens and they were not happy about it. To make up for it, they got lots of snacks. This was in place of the chickens themselves being the snacks, but they did not know this.
The next day the Food Man decided to move the chicken tractors closer to the house. So now the Banty Coop and the Big Girl Coop were side by side and they could look out the windows and sass each other. The Big Girls got to go out to play. In the afternoon, Barbara and Buffy decided that it was time for eggs, so they went in the coop and parked themselves in adjacent nest boxes.
Pretty soon Wendy, too, thought it was egg time. She strolled into the coop and spied Barbara and Buffy with that smug "Iâm laying an egg" expression on their faces.
"Buk, buk, buk," said Wendy. Barbara and Buffy ignored her.
"Buk, buk, buk, ba-gaaawk," insisted Wendy. Barbara and Buffy said nothing.
Patience was not Wendyâs strong suit, so she hopped up on the nest box roost and pecked at Buffy.
"I do not like that," thought Buffy, "I am going to peck your head right back." So Wendy moved over to Barbara.
Wendy did not even give Barbara a warning peck. She just grabbed Barbara by the comb and threw her out of the nest box. Barbara was so surprised she could not react to Wendy. She just shook herself and said several bad words to Wendy. Wendy climbed into Barbaraâs nest and assumed the smug egg laying expression.
Buffy had finally produced her egg, so she and Barbara strolled out of the coop together. Barbara would have to try again later. No point in antagonizing someone whose butt is twice the size of yours!

I wish I could have gotten the photo of Wendy throwing Barbara out of the nest. It was so unexpected, I wasn't ready!
I LOVE the last one!!! Keep it up!!!
