The adventures of Barbara (BR)

Barbara and Leroy are hunkered down in the coop. The wind is blowing like crazy and the snow and rain and sleet and stuff are keeping us in. But so far, the warnings have been worse than the storm. A couple of the braver girls ventured outside, but did not like that cold white stuff on their feet. Got their feet clean, though.

Chickendad just goes out enuf to water and feed. I am chickensitting my little mottled cochin cockerel who can't walk. He has been a house chicken for 10 days, and we are not sure what the problem is, so I have been staying away from the others in case I am carrying some virus on my clothes. Wouldn't want Babs to get sick!

He seems completely normal except for the walking part. He crows most every morning as soon as it is light. He says, "Cock a Do Do" in his soprano voice. I lay in bed and giggle at him.

I'll have Barbara back in action pretty soon, as soon as I remember what it was that she did the other day that was so funny.

AMEN I ain't goin out there any more than necessary!
Right now I'm begrudging the chicken water heaters because I can't plug in my indoor heater at the same time they're on!

Good luck with that little alarm clock!

Glad to hear you all are ok, what treatment are you using with the little house chicken?

14 degrees here and keep running out to the porch-coop(coop is attached to to the house on the porch) to make sure everyone is ok- will tell them barbara and company says hi!

Little House Chicken has either been injured or may have Marek's. I'm giving him time, terramycin, prednisone and extra goodies-eggs, grapes, etc. He is becoming as tame as a kitten, so cute, too. Haven't named him (although "Doody" would be good because of his "cock-a-do-do" song). He has never been in with the rest of the flock, as I purchased him at Ohio National show. The other girl I got at the same time is fine, but from another flock. I wanted to use him on my mille fleur cochin, but it is not looking very promising.

Thanks for your interest!

Barbara says "Hey" to all her fans!
