The love child is a little confused right now he can not for the life of him figure out why he is not allowed to be with all those pretty chicken girls His name is Leonardo we are thinking of calling him Leon for short he is just the most handsome rooster ever at least in his mind. He is doing good when I got him home from the post office and open the box he flew out and onto my butcher block counter then the stove before the young bring of food guy caught him he held him while he got his wings snip just a little something about not flying over the back fence no playing chase the rooster through town whatever that is he got to explore the back yard while the ladies where in there pen and they are very interested in this new guy they started grooming their feathers and clucking at him while he crowed and danced for them. he found some tasty treats but for some reason they would not come over to get them so he ate them (not realizing that the girls where locked in the pen) after is 30 days in "jail" he will be put with 4 babies that are just a month younger them him and a Americana hen that is at the bottom of the pecking order for a couple of weeks then they will all be allowed together and hopefully the older builder of new things will have their new coop done by then. That is the plan as long as all the chickens do what they are supposed to do. yea right we woke up this morning to his crowing since I have not had a rooster before this was so cool I really am enjoying Leon thank you so much for allowing me to have him also. Leon is trying to figure out what the land of Oz is about and who Dorothy and TOTO are lol. I will post on how the love child is doing and post pics of him and his new girls.
Forgot to add he is plotting a plan to over throw those 4 legged hair rooster he is not sure what they are doing but those feathered girls are his. he puffed up all his feathers out and crowed at the dogs when they sniffed the girls pen it was funny and I didn't have my camera with me. the dogs are very confused they have never heard a rooster so they are trying to figure out what is wrong with that chicken why is it making that funny noise I laughed so hard yesterday my sides still hurt.(the dogs are never allowed outside with the chickens unsupervised) even if some of the chickens are bigger then the dogs lol.

Um, the warning came too late. I made the mistake of wearing my old nike flip flops into the coop. Silly Ameraucana Sister pecked my toes hard, over and over, lol. She is afraid of anything that moves right now (except my toes. ) She turned around and my quiet EE was staring at her which caused her to totally flip out and run screaming across the run, till it dawned on her.................... no one was chasing her. That seems to be a common occurrence right now, lol.

Dusty is so sweet and quiet and seems to be getting along just fine.

Barbara doesn't call them the Silly Ameraucana Sisters for nothing! Now their boyfriend, Silver (original, eh?), is a big sweetie and quite mellow. I hope their children do not inherit their mother's tendency to freak out over nothing (much like my ex-DIL. . . )

She is hilarious! I will be glad, for her sake, to have a few days go by, so she knows no one wants to eat her, lol. Dusty is funny, too. She is so little, but she does not take ANY guff, lol She leaped up and grabbed one of the big girls by the neck feathers and showed her who was boss! Then she put her dinner napkin back in her lap an politely resumed her meal, lol.

Leon was strutting his stuff for the girls and eating while free ranging when he noticed the boy bringer of the food was chasing and petting his girls Leon was so upset he crowed and clucked and challenged the 2 legged rooster to a duel all the other adults where laughing so hard. I am not sure the quarantine thing is going to work since I think the girls are hatching a plan to spring Leon from the cage. I am just not sure what to do, the girls keep flying up to see him and he runs straight to their pen when he is out. and he is not liking the 2 legged rooster messing with his girls it is just to much for a little roo to take so he is pouting in his "jail" waiting and plotting an escape I am sure it was great to go out side this morning and hear him crow it was so cute. I am really enjoying having the rooster and so glad that I have one of Barbara and Leroy's love child he is just so much fun and he has an attitude it just so cute.
