The African and Chinese goose thread!!

Here's Matilda, our little African stinker!

1000

She's the funniest little thing. Aside from playing in the bathtub, her favourite things are talking and cuddling. She's just starting to transition from baby sounds to mature goose noises, so she's hard to take seriously. (peep-peep-peep-HONK-peep!)

We got her when she was two days old, and she immediately imprinted upon my wife and chose her as mama. She took a little while to get used to me, but I was at work most of the day, so she wasn't used to seeing me in the house.

I've always had...issues...with geese, as I've been bullied by Canadian and White Chinese geese for the better part of my life...but having this little stinkerbutt in the house has been an absolute joy. I never knew geese could be so cuddly! She might as well be one of the cats!

Hello everyone!

My dad have a pair of africans from Ideal Poultry that are a month old. They were eating chick starter with breyers yeast. The last week he switched to game feed 30% mixed 50% with another feed 14%. We dont have waterfowl feed in the stores. They are housed with some runners ducks that came with them in the same shipment. They have never been in grass because my dad is afraid for them so he is waiting for them to be bigger. Well, yesterday the male one waked up with the neck all bend in almost a S form. He eats and drinks normally and do not looks in pain. Anyone can tell me what is this? and if you can share a way to improve it or heal him I'll really apreciate it. Thanks a lot.

How do you sex Chinese / African geese? I think I got 3 for my b-day (friend who got them is asking father but still guessing, lol) but can't tell if they're white African or Chinese. He paid a lot for them. Also, One has a bump.... Does that mean boy? Its VERY small but they're only 2-3 weeks (guessing by size)
