I have a pair of white Chinese geese that are between 5 and 6 months old. I was shocked to discover that my goose is laying eggs; she has a nest with 4 eggs in it currently. I thought they only laid in the spring. Is this unusual for geese? I assume they are not fertile. She won't try to hatch them out at that age will she?
I have a Chinese gander with 3 Chinese hens and 4 African hens. I got them as hatchlings this Spring and they have been mating for months. They started laying about a month ago. One of my African hens keeps stealing duck eggs, rolling them into her nest and trying to go broody. So it is possible.
