Thank you! What kind of geese you have? Could you post pictures of them flying?Oh my goodness! That last picture is beautiful!
My flock does a group fly through thing in the driveway and around the barn when I let them out every morning. I love to watch it![]()

I keep white and brown chinese, and Embdens. I wish I could, I am not a great camera person and am never "ready" when I should be lol! My Embden hen, oldest but also smallest, can clear a 6 foot fence if she gets anxious enough and wants OUT NOW! I will ask my dad, the camera pro to try to get a few pics. Its pretty awesome to see 10 geese circling the barn flying towards you!
To be honest, I took a video of the whole flight and got the photos from the video. Does the emden fly straight up or clear it from a distance? Can all of them fly?I keep white and brown chinese, and Embdens. I wish I could, I am not a great camera person and am never "ready" when I should be lol! Quote: its a running start, they have a large fenced area for night time. Most of them can get a couple feet off the ground but thats about it. The embden hen can get up to 6-8 feet but she is pretty small for the breed. Huge wingspan tho!

She is small, maybe 14 pounds. Such a small goose for the breed! Now the other 2 goose and my gander forget it... but even my big boy does the barn fly about, mostly grounded lolThat hen is one of the best momma's I have, she is just a fierce lil physco protecting her goslings and eggs.![]()
How big is the big boy? l can't wait until I get goslings. My geese were hatched this June, do you think they could have a family spring of 2016?She is small, maybe 14 pounds. Quote: Oh my, his head is at my waist, but I am about 5 feet tall. I can, and do pick him up but he is heavy, so maybe 20- 25 pounds about, but thats a guess? (I can lift 50 lbs of feed but its not easy for me, thats half my weight LOL).
Yes, you should be seeing goslings next spring! They are the most precious thing, and its easy to imprint with daily handling if momma doesn't get too upset. Every hen reacts differently, I take eggs early in the season so my hens do not much like me that time of year. Once the risk of frozen eggs passes I let them hatch their own.
My only hatch so far this season, now living with my oldest DD. Brown chinese hen, just a precious baby!
