The African and Chinese goose thread!!

@jchny2000 , I opened the egg, but in a effort to preserve the shell for sentimental reasons, the yolk fell apart and I couldn't tell if it was fertile. For the next egg I will just crack it normally and I should be able to tell. I was surprised to find out that goose eggs actually taste excellent!

Ohh my, yum! They make awesome baked goods too. Wonderful heavy rich cakes, cookies etc. I am not into sweets much, but DH loves baked goods. Best french toast you will EVER eat!

Yes more!!I've discovered the African gander is ridiculously photogenic.
Thanks! I really need to get new pictures lol. This was 2 winters ago, Jerk is almost 3 now. My Chinese are 4 this March, my youngest are the American Buffs, they are 2.

Everything I'm reading says to spray and cool the eggs.and a higher humidity.so frustrating

What I do is wet the eggs at day nine and afterwards wet them every other day until day 28 and I never ever cool my eggs. Never even tired but I get 90-95% hatch rate with goslings so I'm not changing my incubating techniques ;)
