Damn the post office. When it comes to live animals there must be some kind of procedure they must follow. I know it wont replace the birds but I would try to cause them a real headache over this. I find that in UK it is normally better to use private courier for any parcels. It is normally cheaper and you get what you paid for. They are a lot more reliable as they actually want your custom and want you to come back. Our postal service is just as unreliable and have random delivery times.
I'm sorry that you may have Marek's in your flock. Have you had a necropsy done. I understand there's not much you can do for it. Just TLC and stress free living. Wouldn't that be nice for us all!

The chickens always seem to die on the weekend. And not sure what benefit it would have. Only one place in our state does that. And right now i am focused on my possible cancer and taking care of the animals i have, and getting ready for spring.

I'm so sorry. Try and stay positive. I know it must be hard. I'm not so good with words sometimes. I wish everything in life could be better with a nutri drench, corid and a bit of piece and quiet. I'm sure you must have a lot of love and support. You'll at least be keeping busy with the new cages you're making!

My 1yr old Araucana hen just died in my arms. She had been egg bound for two days. I tried everything to help her pass it. I even posted on here for help. No replies. The irony of it is that the egg that killed her came out as she died.

Omlet. If character had size she was massive. I'll miss this little bird.

She definitely was that. She used to fly up me to get held. She was an attention seeker! She would come out every morning announcing she was there. I'm finding the loss of her particularly hard.

I had a bunch of problems last weekend too. I had another older hen that was showing all the signs of peritonitis. I didn't think she was going to make the night. I got alot of help here. She pulled through and is now completely normal. I don't know for how long. But for now she's doing ok. I also have two more that aren't great but are OK at the moment. I'm just feeling cursed at the minute.
