King thought it over, and said “You may be right”. He paused. “But, we still didn’t ask yet. You think he’s home by now?”

Hilina sat down. She was unsure. She really wanted pups, but also, she only wanted to ask when the time is right. "How about this," she spoke up, "I'll ask when I see him next."

Gerald held himself proudly as he walked towards the den. It was almost in sight. Something caught Gerald's attention so he stopped and looked. It was a very large wolf approaching, and because of the snow, Gerald couldn't recognize the wolf. He started crouching down hoping that the wolf wouldn't see him and Rusty.

Rusty, not used to having to look for danger himself didn't notice the new wolf or that Gerald had stopped.

Gerald watched trying to hide. The wolf started going to their den. Suddenly, Gerald remembered something. Whip! Their sibling was still sleeping inside. Thinking the large wolf was danger, he decided to be brave. Jumping out of his hiding he ran towards the much larger wolf and sunk his tiny helpless teeth into one of it's ankle. Gerald grawled as if he was actually able to do something.
