Depends on if The recessive White Phoenix are recessive white due to mo^w(allelic mutation of recessive mottling) or if they are recessive white due to c/c

If they are like many Japanese White breeds they they are mo^w/mo^w so when crossed to recessive mottling the cross will be mo/mo^w and appear like the exchequer pattern..

If they are c/c then they will likely be all black with some leakage when adults

Then you will be getting a bird that will have an Exchequer pattern to it due to mo/mo^w

Hmm... okay. And if I bred two of those resulting chicks together, they would breed true, correct?

I'm trying to find the best way to add mottling to my pheonixes, and it's either with the Whites or the supposed duckwings. I figured the duckwings might accidentally hide any sign when they hatch, and I need to tell those chicks apart when they feather out at the latest

Perfect. I think I'll go that route then. They would genetically be mottled,right? It just shows up different because of the recessive white?

What should I call the coloration of my Chameleon Hen? She looks very reminiscent of a pied bird. She's losing the last bit of black in her chest, & butt fluff.
I'll get updated pictures tomorrow, or Thursday.
