What is the difference between English Orpingtons and just plain old Orpingtons? Or is that American Orpingtons?

American version is slimmer, while European is fluffier in the most basic terms.

Lemme know if you like them. I fell in love with my group. Only rooster I've had that's friendlier (besides my mixes) is my splash marans. My araucanas are just the personality of dogs and horses.

He actually looks a ton like my mixed color splash I've got. Hoping he males pretty babies with his girls

That's the only one I have, The owner was not ready to let go of his hens(didn't have many to begin with, but had a surplus of two young roosters he had to let go). I would like to keep him to start a project. But when I get the chance, I will get proper Araucana Hens.

This is my first time owning Araucanas. I have had blue egg layers before but were mongrels of all sorts of shape and feather type. This is my first experience with Ear Tuffs, there seem to be another factors that contribute to the full expression of the Tuffs. I was looking for Clean males, but this one is not so clean after all..!

Yeah, they're tricky to find. I couldn't find any chicks apart from where I got mine from. Everywhere else was eggs or adult/juvenile and I didn't want to risk eggs with shipping plus an already lower hatch rate

It's nearly Impossible now a days. Any birds traveling from the USA to Nicaragua come from smugglers that bring them to Mexico first(by crossing the US-Mexico border). Then travel downward to southern countries.

English Orpington have softer (floofier) feathering. They are larger bodied, and tend to be even more docile.
As I understand it... the Orpington has always been an English breed. Made from LF Cochin and American Dominiques + some other breed I can't remember. In the 1800's give or take a hundred years.
They were imported to the USA fairly early on since they were quite popular, and the hatcheries had xyz years to fiddle with them, possibly outcrossing to production breeds.

Meanwhile, the British continued working on their vision for the breed, and they became better (IMHO). More fluff, more cool colors (Mottled, Chocolate, Isabel, etc.)

I'm not the best photographer, but here's our Clifford.
He's SO sweet to his flock mates, he's always been the biggest and I kept adding batches of younger chicks to the brooder, he played Momma Hen to them all, keeping them warm and carefully stepping his giant feet around them (how he got his name, lol)

Oh darn. Is that because of Nicaragua import laws? Do eggs fall under the same rules as live birds?
I'd totally be happy to send you free except for shipping Ameraucana / etc. eggs as a thanks for all you do, but sounds like that would be hard for you.
