The "Ask Anything" to Nicalandia Thread

That thought has cross my mind. But I don't have the discipline to finish a book. I have not scholar background. So I am more than happy to help out here.

If you wanted to collaborate, I'm pretty good at the editing / compilation / organization end of things, and I have the software as I'm working on my own (fiction) book.
If not me, I'm sure there are others here willing to spend some time to help bring such a useful resource to the chicken community.

My Fibro Easter Egger pullet laid her first egg today. It's like a Grayish Turquoise.
Looks olive on screen though. Can't get a decent picture of a colored egg unless it's like brown for some reason.

Hey first off, I’d like to say I’m glad this thread exists. Thank you.

So I have a few birds I’ve admittedly been line breeding with reckless abandon and have made birds that confuse me as to how they are the color they are.

I can send pictures if you’re curious but I have a rooster that seems to have inherited silver from his mother over the mahogany red of his father. Not a speck of red on him.

That rooster has produced offspring that look like light brown with silver on the hackles instead of gold. The kicker is I have a male and female from that clutch that both look like this. A rooster that has hen coloration. I’m lost.

This hen and rooster are the result.

The black and white rooster and the last rooster at the bottom confuse me.

The henny feathered cockerel is a result from breeding with Sebright.
