The "Ask Anything" to Nicalandia Thread

@nicalandia I've got a question. I'm attempting to see the best way to create an auto-sexing EE by using a Bielefelder and either a wheaten or silver Ameraucana (whichever would be easier to achieve this). I'm not 100% certain of the genetics involved with a Bielefelder, but know the Ameraucanas. What would be the shortest route to take to reach my goal?
ETA: I also have BBS Ameraucanas. I really would like the beautiful colors of the bielefelder. Would it be possible with a cross to black Ams, or is one of my other options better to achieve the coloration I want?
Bielefelders are barred gold duckwing. Wheaten ameraucanas are gold wheaten, and silvers are silver duckwing. I would use a bielefelder rooster for the first generation and keep breeding back to the ameraucana or ameraucana/bielefelder crosses until you get what you want. Always keep a barred bird in each generation since it’s a dominant trait and won’t pass on unless one of the parents is barred.

Alittle hint at the size of Chick #2.

She's 2 weeks old, 6oz, barely fits in my hand, bigger then a pint jar, when standing all the way. She's also lazy like a Cornish X.

What would you say is going on genetically, if it's genetic?

I've been calling her Big Fatty.

Use Legbars instead of Ameraucanas and you'll have autosexing EEs in the first generation.

@nicalandia, I have another question.

Is there a genetic disorder that causes a chick to not develop any eyes? I’ve had 2 chicks that never hatched that had not developed any eyes.
That is very strange, the first time I hear about it. Are the parents related? Are they older than usual? Perhaps it's something that will not appear again.
