Oh, okay, wasn't sure which one you meant.

Was kind of hoping you could help me figure out the father, but I guess it's okay if you don't.

Silkies as a breed are very tricky to guess colors and when you introduce an unknown sire the issues/guessing their genetics grows exponentially and I've been feeling down for a while do to many personal issues and I am not as sharp as I would like be.

We can skip this one then.

I'm curious to see what you believe what's going on with the Malay chick though.

That is very strange, the first time I hear about it. Are the parents related? Are they older than usual? Perhaps it's something that will not appear again.
The first time it happened, no the parents were not related. The second time it happened was with my project chicken and I bred them brother to sister.
I don’t think it’s age, my oldest bantam is 4 years old.

Keep in mind that Malay's were used in the make up of the Cornish Chicken, sometimes you will see some chicks growing very large almost Cornish like. But then settle within standard weight.

It could also be incubator related if they are getting uneven heat some parts of the chick develops faster than others.

I knew they were used to create Cornish, but didn't expect a big fatty chick.

What's going on with this 2 week old EEs feet? Toe color should have turned slate with the rest of it's leg color by now.
