Green shanks is the combination of Yellow Skin w and id+(sex linked dermal enhancer), Blue Shanks/Slate Shanks is the combination of White Skin W+and id+(sex linked dermal enhancer)
Yes, I understand that, but I was wondering if it also had to do with the fact the chick has blue.

What do you think is going on with this boy's leg color? It's Speckled with slate.

Mottling does effect the shank color(many times producing a mottled effect) but that rooster is clearly not mottled.. With backyard crosses we just don't know

I have two chicks that I hatched a couple weeks ago. Rooster is a silver Mille fleur d’uccle and the hens are a silver Mille fleur and two hatchery Mille fleur d’uccles. All chicks hatched out silver with some with leakage (to be expected) except for two which I can’t figure out. I contacted the breeder from whom I got the silver pair and she said she’s never hatched anything like them… there’s no chance of another rooster or hen being the parents.

Those Hatchery MF appear to be Wildtype base

Columbian has little to no effect on Wildtype. Show Quality MF are eb/partridge. e+/eb, Co/Co look just like regular e+/e+, co+/co+ chicks but I suspect those chicks will develop to look just like regular MF(Silver females due to sire)

What is a good example of e+/e+, Co/Co and mo/mo(recessive mottling) breed?

Speckled Sussex.
