A sexlinked male chicken (gold/silver split) should give gold to some chicks, silver to some other chicks. Either color can go to either gender of chick.

Okay, cool. I had some male silkies hatch today and was debating keeping one for a sexlink pen and I'm trying to get as many pretty colors as possible

Thinking about introducing the color black into my Malays at some point. Would Jersey Giant be a good route, or do you think I should use a different black breed?

Blacks I have: Sumatra, Jersey Giant, Black Ameraucana, Fibro Easter Egger, Olive Egger, & of course my Chameleon hen.
