I keep getting these white birds

with black and brown feathers from this male and hens that look just like this hen. Is this dominant or recessive white?

Thanks for sharing, but it's going to be quite difficult to find answers, there are so many hidden genes that affect the phenotype and can cause false positives. Your Coop if filled with them. We can only guesstimate with a high or somewhat high certainty but never be 100% be sure.
You're welcome.
True, but test breeding may give a clue whether there's mottling, or what I suspect is a Barring Mutation. I did find Barred feathers on my Chameleon hen.

Mystery is in my name.

Is mottling always white and another color? I have this hen that appears to be mottled light and dark blue. Or is that not considered mottled?

IIRC, blues commonly have some variation in color and one of the challenges of breeding good blues is to have an even shade of blue with even, regular lacing.

Think it's just blue. I have a blue pullet that has half of a feather way darker than the rest of her body. They can vary some

Mottling should always be white tips on the feathers.

There is typically a black bar behind the white tip, and then whatever other color the feather has. Of course on black feathers the rest of the feather is just black, but the separate black bar shows up pretty clearly on Mille Fleurs, and somewhat on colors like Speckled Sussex or Spangled Orloffs. The "black" bar can be diluted like any other black markings, by Blue or chocolate or Dominant White.

A mottled blue chicken would have white tips, with the rest of the feather being blue.

DIfferent shades of blue is not considered mottled.

A couple of mine have had some random spots of dark ticking here and there.

Part of my recent culling was selling off the birds who had the most of that and selecting the ones who had the most even coloration.
