It's not mottling, itls clearly the effect of the pattern gene, Melanotic and Db.. Just search for "Golden Penciled Hamburg" Yours are the same but with Khaki or a similar black feather diluter that is turning the black feathers to a khaki color.

Females will have a Penciling pattern, males will have many spangles on the breasts(Normal feathered males, hen feathered males will have penciling)

The females don't have a penciled pattern though. they keep those tiny little red zigzag bars on their wings.

So who should I breed the male to to increase the odds of getting them? The pullet is at a different flock, so I only have males right now

You could, but you will be getting whites down the road.

Perfect. I barely have enough female birds n the white pen, I was hoping they weren't needed for the other color.

I wish there was a way without test breeding to figure out who carried that white
