The Authentic Scavenger Hunt

Is she a Speckled Sussex?
I have one named Speckles. She will be 3 this year. She's been my best layer so far. I have 3 leghorns, and she outproduces their average. I'm not sure with the leghorns who lays.
Of course, as I mentioned earlier today, none of them are laying right now.
This is Speckles as a baby. She was very tame from the beginning. I called her Poulette until she got matronly.

Surrogate mom Buffy (Buff Orp)with her two Serama chicks that she hatched Dec 2nd. The first one hatched a week earlier and didn't make it. We've been away since Monday morning and I hope we find them OK tonight. The size difference is comical. These are our very first chicks ever (please let them be pullets!!)

Next: Pix of your very first chick either by hen or incubator

I don't have any pictures remaining of the first broody chicks I ever had hatched (that was probably almost a decade ago and the pictures have been lost to time, unfortunately), but here are the first incubator chicks I ever hatched, at least to my memory. There were Guineas and ducks before these guys, but no chicken chicks! Bantam silkied Cochins. :love Abra, the little stinker up front, was the first to hatch out of the brood.

Next, since I got the incubator chicks, how about your first broody hen hatched chicks? :)
