I tried to wipe the birds off my computer screen. :gig

They were what I was actually taking pics of... buzzards. I had never seen that many fly overhead at one time. They just kept coming in waves. I counted at least 30 something that day. It was weird.

Anything poultry related you’d like to post about :)
Turkey vultures migrate this time of year, we see large flocks like that too. I love watching them! We are within their winter range here.

Next any interesting wild birds to share? (that you find interesting)
ETA But if you want to change the subject to something you'd like to talk about, go for it.

I'd like to talk about eggs. We are getting ZERO. How I miss those delicious eggs, I was taking them for granted. I do not begrudge my girls a break from laying tho.
skelter1 (3 of 1).jpg I packed my skelter away and bought a carton of eggs at the store. Not very tasty. This skelter pic shows it at half height. I can add plastic sections to make it up to double the height, it can hold 24 eggs plus or minus depending on the size of the eggs. I store it in the fridge.
Next hunt--either show us eggs and maybe how you store them or
back to something else you'd like to talk about.

I need a better storage system. Yesterday was the first day that i got 5 cream legbar eggs, 1 from all 5 girls! I still get about 4 eggs a week from my 2 BCM girls. All of my bantam cochins are on strike. Some of the younger serama pullets are still laying, maybe 3-4 a day.
