The mama hen is named 'Bindie' and I let her and her three babies out to range the other day with the rest of my flock. The comets tried with all their might to get at those babies and Bindie wouldn't have any of it. She beat the holy heavens out of those comets! She's the best mama in the whole world. I've built her a special pen where she can range with her chicks a couple times a day without the rest of the flock butting in. I'll let the babies get a little bigger before introducing them to the coop. I'm going to try to sneek a couple EE chicks under her and see if she'll bring them up too. If she pecks at them I'll bring them up in the brooder.
