Question- What kind are they?

I think they are chickens...

I have been told they are a mix of various game breeds including Roundhead and something else with an illicit sounding name I've forgotten. Whatever the case, they are really sweet birds that are alert enough to handle living close to the deep dark woods... reliable egg layers and caring mommas when they go broody.​
