The babies are here

I use starter all the time with my birds from hatch till death. I mix with broiler and add Nutritional yeast to it. I can't get much in the way of feed here and I like non GMO so that even limits me more. If they are getting so much green I can't see them having a problem with angel wing. Id either mix with maintenance or finish it up. Just keep an eye on things if you see anything that looks out or ordinary on the wing it's an easy fix when they are just growing out their wing feathers.

Thank you. I know I’m probably worrying too much but I want them to have a great start so I have them for a long time. Our feed store doesn’t have water fowl food so I have to order it online. I’ll keep an eye on them and slowly mix the maintenance in over time.

Levi is starting to develop wing feathers and he is dropping the left a little but brings it up easily and quickly. That’s what started me thinking about their food. There is no turning out so it’s probably just getting a little heavy with the feathers. Again thank you for your wisdom to this newbie.

Well new goose characteristics are coming out. Levi has learned to hiss (at the baby chicks so that wasn’t ideal) and two of the girls are starting to make honking noises.

For the chickens, we have two different options for outside access. They have a covered area that opens into the barnyard and back field/woods or a front door that only opens into the yard. We’ll see how it goes and if it’s an issue they can have the barnyard access only.

If the lower wing (bone part) is straight but the incoming feathers are poking out slightly and not tucking under upper wing will it eventually work its way under the main part of the wing or should I tape it in place for a few days with cling wrap? After they wake up I’ll get a picture.

They change so much! The chickens should learn to stay out of their way mine do.

I don’t know if you can see the feather that is sticking out. It’s only two feathers and hard to see in the picture.
