@gimmie birdies I went to Meyer's site last night and they said 100% accurate sexing. So much for the lucky hens in the fry pan bargains for 2019.​

I did shmoosh them a bit,(wink wink-nudge nudge) also what they mean by that, is they will correct mistakes, they say errors may occur (say you ordered 8 females, and got 5 females and 3 males, the will make it right, plus you will have to order MORE chicks to go with the replacements, and more shipping fees, win win for them.

Thinking of trying some for my meat birds this year can you up date with pictures, opinion and weights from time to time?

Sure- Now maybe the reason I got such a mix, is because I told them I wasn't looking for birds for meat, I said send me any size male bird in the fry pan, most people if they don't ask for anything diff just get Barred rock, RIR, and buff orpingtons so I heard. ( I have also heard they send anything that can be feather coloring sexed right off the bat )I can track BR,BO, and RIR ones for you, I will probably eat them when they just start to crow 12 weeks or so...but maybe keep one of the more unique birds.

If you are going to eat them,wondering why you asked for any male bird not just meat ones? Did you want that for possibly having a rare one? Just curious, besides I figured all ordering was just done online didn't know you called to order also.

We did BR with our freedom rangers this summer, at 12 weeks the BR where about have the size of the rangers! We are not going to be doing the free frying pan special again. I’m thinking of trying the Corinish crosses this time too.

FWIW Meyer will give you a refund on wrong sexed or chicks that don’t survive the first 48hrs. Like most though I fell for the trap and ordered 16 more 12 weeks later and now have 22 hens instead of 15ish I wanted.
