Lightning watched her go, her eyes glassy with relief. "We'll give him Sitka. I'll send Alborozo to hand her over tonight."

That night, Jay and several others waited by the old camp as the moon rose in the sky.

(Okay)

Sitka was grazing in the main part of Sagemint, keeping one eye on the place where Wind, Lightning and the filly had gone.

(Lightning is back now)

Lightning watched the moon climbing higher in the sky. Black clouds peppered the sky, signaling rain. A sweet scent of lush rainforests swallowed the Cimarron, the Sagemint horses raising their heads at the sudden smell.

Sitka flicked her ears and raised her head, watching Lightning intently for any clue as to what they had been walking about.

Lightning gave away none of her thoughts or feelings. Fire Magic and Foxvalley Oliver were watching her, she was watching them as well. They seemed to be speaking with each other through thoughts.

Meanwhile, back at Jay's camp... Dark Falls came to Jay. "Why do you wish for Sitka?"

Frustration flared again in Sitka's stomach and she walked over to them "Who was that filly?" She asked "What did she want?"

Jay glanced briefly at Dark Falls "She is my daughter."

 

[TechnoCat]

"We do not know, Sitka." Foxvalley murmured. Fire Magic was silent. Fury was grabbing at all three of the horses: Lightning, Foxvalley Oliver, and Fire Magic.


"But why don't we just kill Lightning? Then we can easily steal Sitka." Dark Falls muttered.

Sitka narrowed her eyes, sensing the the sudden anger "What is going on?" She nearly shouted.

"All in good time, Dark Falls" Jay replied smoothly.
