"The only thing you'll know is that she is Wind's daughter." He snarled, then the other guards pulled hard on the rope, forcing Jay to keep moving.

"Wind will tell her when the time is right." Race snarled under his breath.

"How do you know she won't come running to me when she finds out you've been lying to her her whole life?" He smirked.

Sitka watched them, her eyes unreadable. She had never seen the members of Sagemint act so savage towards an unarmed horse. What else are they hiding? She wondered.

"We'll see" Jay replied with a small, sly smile. He peeked around the guard once more at his daughter, then turned back to Race. "Good luck with her." He smirked.

Though Sitka couldn't hear the words, she could tell from his gestures that it wasn't anything nice.
