With as many women in real life and on NutriSystem commercials try to get skinny for men, most men I know LIKE full-figured women. All of my brother's girlfriends have been chubby. My mother has never lacked for dates and she has the bowling-pin figure. One of my good male friends in college always dated obese women. DH used to get jealous until this friend assured him "She's not my type. Too scrawny."

... Okay, yeah. but girls themselves like to be thin, thus making a world of fat and thin girls walking around!

Oh really??? I didnt know THAT!

Yes Barbie dolls gives girls a distorted view of a "perfect" doll but I have to understand the girls using them for their own imagination and playtimes. When they want to look LIKE Barbie, then they have crossed over to the BarbieNeverland! Time to intervene!

As for guys like a little chubby, it depends but as my hubby ahems says "MFMH".

We always used lego's and lincoln logs for our imaginations.

I don't know. I never really understood the need for a plastic doll with plastic clothes. (Are the clothes plastic? I don't know. lol) I had an american girl doll, that I was given when I was 10. The thing with that, is you can 'do laundry' with a real washer, and you can sew clothes for them. And make their hair all fancy. (that's how I learned to braid)

Lol.

Ya, I mean even if they didn't particularly perfer them chubby, I don't think they really mind all that much. It's usually the girls who don't like the guys bellies.

But girls themselves like to be thin, because of the culture. In china ( i think it was china) fat is a beauty. I was saying that Barbies contribute to the idea girls have in their heads, that they should be thin.

China likes their women chubby?????? I didn't know THAT! I thought they valued thin ness because of the diet they are eating.

I know Africa likes their women chubby too but there is one country that loves their women chubby, the chubbier she is, the better they like her! I know chubbiness is a sign of fertility and would bear healthy children.

At least there are NO chubby Barbie...never seen one yet!

Well as for Ken dating her or married her, she is all he has LOLOL and she is so old and Ken is too! At least they are not gold diggers!

I heard that in some countries in Africa, a man that has a chubby wife (or better yet, multiple chubby wives) is looked upon as being wealthy. It's a status symbol and sign of success to be able to have enough food to keep your women well-fed.

I've only ever had one Barbie, Western Barbie, and her job was to take care of the horses. My sister had a couple of Kens, but I would commandeer one or the other when it was time to load hay. He was also the groom when Barbie had a horse show.

I had those tall plastic horses, one is a palomino and the other one was a red chestnut with blond main and tail. The bridle and saddles were made of thin plastic and it did come with a buckboard and harness at one time. I used to stick my sister's Barbie dolls on top of them and their legs look like V;s and they can not go back being straight!

I had fun playing buckaroo and I would purposefully throw the Barbie dolls off the horses, left them in the dust LOL!

I also remember dressing them backwards and inside out....gave my sis the FITS!

Its a wonder I never got into trouble with my Mom for being so bad to her Barbie dolls.
