I will be getting a barnevelder from mypetchicken.com so I was wondering if anyone has gotten barnevelder hens from them before. Any thoughts would be appreciated. :/

I have 3 pullets. The are a new variety for me. They seem to be friendly and great foragers.

Did you get them from my petchicken.com? I'm totally new to chickens but have wanted them for a long time. Very psyched. They come next week.

No I got them from a local poultry swap. It is mt first year with this variety. They are great foragers, friendly and they fly!

Did your Barnevelder from My pet chicken look like this?? I got 3 mystery chicks and I believe that this one is a Barnevelder...

Well maybe. My barnevelder looked very similar too my speckled sussex chick but much darker.

Here's my barnevelder at 4 weeks old today. She is very nice overall but just a bit timid.

I got 2 from mypetchicken late April. This is one of them at about 12 weeks. They are sweet and come near me to see if I've brought treats, but scatter when I attempt to touch them. They are a bit skittish!

The one closest to you is a Barnevelder chick. They look almost exactly like Wyandottes, but with more speckled heads. XD
