How are your bantams doin?
They're all doing great now! We moved 'em out a few days ago since they were off of their coccidiosis treatment. (The chick in my pfp is out of that hatch and she is just the sweetest thing. She's an Olive Egger.)

Out of my 5 mixed color bantam cochins, seems like we have one for sure boy, one possibly stunted boy/possible girl, and 3 girls. Their tails are getting pretty poofy, but you can tell that they are definitely pet quality. I don't mind though. They're all very sweet and curious and love to fly on my head even after I tell them not to....

the fowl pox is drying up.
Oh I'm so glad they are integrated and pox is drying up!!!
You'll have to get us new pics soon!

This was Hopes comb when his fowl pox was at its worst (more or less anyway)

I gave them pumpkin since Harps had them on reduced sale for $2. They all had a little dent, and that spot was a little soft, but they werent moldy. I just got one and split it between my flocks.

Also, I know you guys are all Cochin Bantam lovers, but can anyone tell me whether this Buff Orp is a hen or roo? It was given to me as a roo, but theu want him back if he is a hen. They bought him as a pullet from TSC. They think he is about 15 weeks.

Your Cochins are beautiful!! 😍😍 I reallllly want a true high quality bantam Cochin 😍😍 There’s such a notable difference between yours and my cute backyard pet quality Cochins! Sweet Pea and Willow are my favorites! I love their shape and coloring.

As for the Orp, I’d put money on cockerel. By now you might be able to dig around in the saddle area and see some coming in…they should come in all shiny orange. Orp boys take FOREVER to mature. This was my boy at 15 weeks ish…

I can now say for certain that my baby Ariana Sushi is indeed a splash bantam Cochin! She had a bunch of weird barring on her first feathers but she’s now almost a week farther along and the coloring is definitely splash :) Brie is twice her size and the same age, so either Ariana is a tiny girl or Brie is a Bruce. It would be my luck to have more boys…so I’m sure Bruce is gonna break my heart 😩

I’m interested to see how they look as they mature, given the pet quality parents. They’re lovely chickens but one has the wrong tail shape, one is seriously itty bitty, one has the wrong comb, and the rooster has lots of leakage and the wrong tail shape. They both appear to be single combs though so that’s good 😊
