The Beautiful Bantam Cochin!

I know! I love the name Echo but I named one of my blue Cochin Bantam chicks that. He was a rooster and I already sold him. Echo the second!

Someone local is opening a group order with Meyers, help me decide what to doooooooo They have sexed bantams now and there’s too many options. Mottled or frizzle???

I just have one little bantam Cochin. Hanabi! I got her as a sexed bantam from Cackle hatchery. The only one of three that survived the trip. The red wasn’t actually the color I preferred but it was one of the only colors at the time that you could buy sexed for some reason.
Now I love her fiery red against all my other more neutral colored birds!
She is one of my friendliest chickens and still will hop up on my arm for some snuggles. Currently she’s broody and just wants to be left alone!

I can't wait to see how China and Coco grow up! Hanabi was a BIG influence in me getting some!!!

Yes, it really is! Most of their offerings are mixed eggers and I’m really into proper breeds for the most part. I’ll not turn down good egg colours, but don’t want to pay that much. Prices are so much higher than elsewhere mostly too, but sexed bantams are so appealing after the year we’ve had…

They just started offering them in June-ish! Righttttttt after I got my order of bantys We had a very favourable ratio though, so I can’t complain too much

She’s a cutie! Nice little size too, just right for cuddles. We don’t have any reds in our flock either

We had one bantam cochin in our original flock. Our little Yuki was the sweetest little gal. She was raised by our broody Japanese bantam hen from a day old chick. That flock has all passed on from old age. -love bantam cochins! -very sweet birds!
