Here he is His Dad is the other somewhat saucy dude…with the MAJOR leakage He’s 3/4 blue birchen, 1/4 blue haha. Which is why Ariana Sushi has leakage.

I’m sooooo upset guys My sweet, gorgeous bobtail pullet died Wednesday night. I’ve been so upset I haven’t even wanted to talk about it I went to clean out their coop today because it’s finally dry enough after all this rain and found bloody poop I’m guessing with all this wet bedding and rain she got cocci She was fine one day and dead the next. I’m just sick So I dug through my egg stash and put all the eggs I was sure were hers in the incubator. I’m so hoping they’re fertile Her poor little boyfriend is so lonely now. There just aren’t enough sad emoji’s to express how upset I am. I feel so irresponsible and dumb and heartbroken

Well I am clearly in mourning and handling it about how I expected…someone local posted a breeding pair of bobtails and I bought them within mins and I have a bid for hatching eggs on eBay Gonna have them coming out my ears soon! This pullet is not nearly as perfect as Taunus but I don’t care!

I tried to get photos of my hen Confetti Cake today, and put her on a feed bin in the sun so I could get good lighting, but she was being very difficult. She went giraffe mode, essentially. These photos are killing me, usually her head is set much lower, but any time I put her somewhere so I can look at her she goes all long-necked. It’s ridiculous. If anyone knows how to get her to calm down about being put on taller surfaces or in places she’s not used to, i‘d love the advice.

I also got photos of her son. I got rid of a few who were culls, but kept him back because he has the darkest red I’ve seen on a juvenile, and because he doesn’t have a bunch of traits I’m trying to breed away from. The longer I’ve kept him though- he is 10-11 weeks old- the more I’ve noticed he has a lot of little white/gold speckles on his shoulders, and mostly black wing feathers. Any chance this will molt out and he could end up an even shade of red, or should I hold out for another male? A lot of his hatchmates were far more even colored, but either just light red or buff colored, alongside having other undesirable traits.
