The Beauty of Ducks-Chat Thread

Pics
Depends on what they are guarding against! They may help keep a hawk from coming down and maybe not my two didn’t deter the hawk that got my Bantam hen. They were smooched up against the gate with the ducks terrified. Something with teeth and claws would take down a goose with out much trouble. Geese can put a hurting on you with their wings but that isn’t very much protection from a predator who is bent on eating them.
I agree

Kinda late responding, but thanks everyone who commented about the picture of my son with our Indian Runner Ducks!

He's actually the reason we got ducks in the first place. Ever since he turned 3 (he's almost 5 now), he's been OBSESSED with ducks! I'm talking about he not only came up with surprisingly elaborate plans on how to catch ducks and bring them home (we obviously didn't let those plans come to fruition), to guilt tripping us by telling his preschool teachers that "mommy forgot again to get me a duck." :gig

After almost a year of listening to him ask/beg/scheme, we decided to take the plunge and become urban duck owners. Thankfully our son is just as smitten now with our hens as he was when they were ducklings. :love

I am loving all the pics! I will try to get out and get pics of mine later....here are some that I have(not to updated...from a couple weeks ago).
