THE BEST WAY TO HATCH DUCK EGGS :)

im getting some pekin and buff duck eggs today,

and i have read about hatching duck eggs. but i wanna know what u all think is the best way to hatch them... humididty temp, turner, spraying,, etc...... thanks for all ur wonderful input!

Humidity should be around 60%, up to 75% when they hatch.

Turn them an odd number of turns a day, if turning my hand.

Keep the temp 99.5-100.5

Mist the eggs on day 7 up until 3 days before they hatch. Also cool them down for 5-10 min a day, when you mist them. It helps with the hatch rate. You are supposed to do that with waterfowl eggs.

Also, if you hatch them in a paper egg carton (cut the bottoms out so the air can circulate), they hatch faster and you get a better hatch rate, and clean up is a breeze.

I never mist duck eggs.

I put them in the incubator in a goose egg turner. (Appleyard duck eggs are large.)

I keep the humidity at 65% through day 25.

I then raise the humidity to 85%.

Some ducks can go past day 30 before hatching.

Muscovies take 35 days.

I always mist and always have good hatch rates so I guess it depends.

I could see veins in mine about day 8-9. Don't ask me about getting them to hatch, though. They're on day 29 and no pips:-(
