the BIG Chill, La style (3 pics) added a couple more

I didn't realize it could get to freezing in your area! Is that usual for your winters?

Hey Mudhen, yes we do hit freezing here, further south La you go, not so much. This is a typical La weather, 70 degrees a couple of days ago & now this.

We had ice on the driveway, too. I found that out the hard way.

Ouch ! that's no good. Did you fall or your car spin out?
mom'sfolly, I bet that was a sight to see ! When the chickens see them flying around they get spooked, then they realize they're not in danger.
I have been trying for a long time to get a pic of one. They love the tallow seeds & just happened to get a decent shot.
I took the ice out of the pool & those silly ducks still won't get into the water.

It's allll good.

Yeah, Bayou, I'm waiting on our 70's again.

bayouchica - As usual, your images are spellbindingly beautiful. I too have been fortunate to see a pileated woodpecker a few times in VA. Beautiful big bird.

Amazed you had a freeze down there. But, with all the strange climate changes lately I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Is a freeze occasionally normal for your neck of the woods?

Keep the pics coming when you can - they are truly inspiring to us photo-compromised, like me!

Happy New Year.

Wildsky....I don't think I'll trade you

. This morning actually felt warmer than yesterday when it was 10 because the wind died down. I think we'll both have more than our fair share of cold temps before the winter is over!!
