they are so pretty congrats!Congrats everybody on your peeps and peeps-to-be! Our ducklings are 3 weeks old now, and growing as fast as the weeds they eat. I was soooo ready for their Mom to abandon them in search of bugs and seeds and berries, but surprisingly, she hasn't! By the end of the first week they were all swimming in the pond with the two other big ducks - supervised, of course, for a short while. That didn't last long - they were frantic to get out of the coop and into the pond. I thought something was wrong, they were so loud. Nope, just wanted to go swimming. Jack (Mom) took them up and down the creek, through the woods, through the culvert (that was scary for them) and to all the best bug spots in the yard. She defends them ferociously against the chicken, the other ducks, and us. It's funny to watch her try to herd all 6 of them in one direction when they don't want to go the same way. Now they all get along, but even the chicken watches out for Jack now, just in case. I'm really surprised how good of a mom Jack is, considering all I've heard about bad runner duck moms. Now I can't wait to see how they feather out and hear them talk (Please be girls, please be girls)![]()

I think the funniest thing is looking out the window and seeing a bird pile on the creek bank - ducks, ducklings and chicken, all sleeping together in a group in the sun.
