How many eggs left? Drakes have been known to kill ducklings too so always better to be safe than sorry.Yeah, he has been a naughty boy and is seperated just sitting there because he did not know what to do without the females
I hope so too sounds like she is really dedicated.Seven... My poor females were so concerned and sad when I had to pick it up. She seemed really concerned. I hope the rest hatch
Look forward to it!!Yeah, I think she is fully broody!!!! Only four days left till they hatch!!! I can't wait! This is my first clutch and I have no more patience left!!! I will post pics when they hatch
If he is acting aggressive now he will most likely be more aggressive when hatch begins, drakes have been known to kill ducklings I separate with fencing so he can see what's going on but not be able to get to the nest of ducklings. If she is a dedicated broody she probably won't leave if she can still see him.I have a question I have a Pair of beautiful pekins! A pair because my drake will only take to this 1 female! why idk, this is there 5th clutch my female is very broody and does a wonderful job but my drake is acting more aggressive toward the nest then ever before... the eggs are due to hatch in a week or so. my question being should I play it safe and remover him before they hatch ? my only worry is if I take him out that she will stop sitting! any advice would be helpful! 14 healthy growing ducklings last candled at day 20. was 15 on day 18 but rolled one out and cracked it on day 19. I have one other broody pekin sitting on 17 all well there no issues with other ducks or chickens.
