Where is he anyway? Haven't seen him for awhile.

I hope he'll have more time now to come visit here. I really enjoy his posts.

I agree Sumi, Jeff has a ton of knowledge, information, and experience with the Buckeye Breed! Besides he's pretty sharp in general. I love to hear what he has to say.

Also I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Buckeyes (hatched from Lay line eggs) This cockerel that I took to the show is probably about 6 or 7 down from the best one I have (14 total cockerels). 5 out of the 7 pullets are starting to look pretty nice as well. They ALL still need quite a bit more growing out. Patience, Patience ...

Here is my number two girl. I took her to the show also.

Nice looking girl

You must post more pics as they grow out so we can see how they do. I love seeing everyone's pics.

Jeff posted some good info a few pages back. Don't know if you saw it? The easiest way to pull them up would be to go through his profile, then All Posts (under his avvie) https://www.backyardchickens.com/u/290715/jeff-lay

Regin, next time you go to a show, make sure you bring a bag of pine shavings/bedding with you.....just in case you think the birds need more bedding in their pens. It'll prevent them from walking in their own mess

Nice to see!! Looks like these Ohio Buckeyes are doing well in the Carolinas! Wasn't that where the ALBC line is from?

Well it was my first show, and her first show as well. I had actually brought some bedding with me, but wasn't sure if I was allowed put more in after she knocked it all out! I did poo patrol and made sure to keep it cleaned up though! And she calmed down after a few minutes. I gave them a little treat every time I walked up to the cage, that tamed them pretty quick. Made them come to the front of the cage too.

My neighbor who is more experienced at showing had planned on going with me, but had to cancel due to family commitments.
